Smile! Love! Peace!

Serena Williams 2012

Her 6-0, 6-1 victory, which she finished with an ace, required just 1 hour 3 minutes, and she celebrated with a scream, a series of bounding leaps and even a few dance steps on the grass.

Williams, who has dominated many a tournament in her emotional roller coaster of a career, has perhaps never been more dominant than she was in singles at these Olympics.

“I honestly don’t think I have ever played better from start to finish,” she said.

She became only the second woman to complete a career Golden Slam — a gold medal plus wins in all four Grand Slam tournaments. The feat was first achieved by Steffi Graf in 1988 after she swept all four major titles. Williams can add the gold medal to her 14 Grand Slam singles championships, the most of any active woman.

I watched it this morning and it was so intense.  I thought I’ll just share this before the day is over! ^_^
